:: ATM ::

I got my Altelier Momoni order today in the mail. I ordered a little stripey top, black jeans, white ATM top and flared jeans. They are awesome clothes, I am soooooo happy with them. The attention to detail is just amazing. The jeans have real pockets and a little tab on the back pocket just like the real thing. The stitching is so well done and absolutely perfect. And the most important bit, they fit like a dream.

I haven't had a chance to take any photos yet and I'm still waiting on face ups for my girls so I'll wait until the are "complete" before we start taking any snaps. Below are a few pics from Lola's website of what I ordered.

Unoa Love

Well I now have both little unoas assembled. I got stuck into sanding my Lusis on Sunday, had her coated with my last bit of MSC on Monday and finally put together today.

I felt a lot more confident sanding and putting her together this time around, having practised on my Sist.

They look so cute together. I can't wait to get their face ups done now.

I'm still deciding on names for them. I really like Cherry and Blossom, but feel that it's a bit too cheesey. Then my friend suggested Sakura which means cherry blossom in Japanese, I think that would suit the Lusis. Then I found the name Yuri which means Lily in Japanese and that would suit the Sist. So it could be Sakura and Yuri but I still won't know for sure until they have their face ups.

It's as hard as naming children!

Dollightful

Seeing as I am going to be out of action in a couple of weeks time due to a new arrival I decided to do a bit of shopping now.

Firstly, I very unexpectedly bought another Luts mature body for either my Juri or Soo head (just depends on which resin matches the best). She was on sale on the Angels Australis website. At a really good price and in Australia too which meant postage would be much cheaper than if buying from overseas. I had always wanted to get another body for my little Soo and especially after having a play with her last week. I never think of a doll as finished or complete until they have their own body. You can't really call just a head a doll and I hate swapping bodies around all the time and having extra heads in the cupboard. So that is purchase number 1.

Then I was browsing through the DOA marketplace (a very dangerous pastime I might add) last night and I found this gorgeous Luts outfit for sale.

It was one that I wanted to purchase ages ago but then Luts took it off their website. I think it will look gorgeous on Angelique or Lulu and I already have the cute boots like in the picture so it will look beautiful. So that was purchase number 2.

I have been trying to find the right outfit for Freya ever since I bought her early last year. I have bought probably four little ensembles for her so far and none of them have looked right. I always loved this outfit on Lyssa's Soo, Miss Lily Pearl:

It's made by Vitta Vera. So I emailed Akiko at Vitta Vera last night to see if she could make another one like it and she replied today and yes, she could make another one. So that is purchase number 3. Even if it doesn't suit Freya I'm sure one of my other girls will wear it and it has always been a favorite of mine. I just love the baby pink and black together.

Well it wouldn't look complete without that cute little pink ringlet wig so that is purchase number 4. It's not exactly the same wig unfortunately because they don't make that one in pink anymore, damn shame too. So this is the one I will be getting:

The ringlets aren't quite as tight, but it's still super cute! I also bought some other wigs from Cancan at the same time. The black one will go with the new Luts outfit and the two brownish ones are for the Unoa sisters.

To complete the outfit we need shoes of course and I found these in the DOA marketplace a couple of weeks ago and fell in love with them but thought no, I don't have anything they will go with. Different story now :o) So they are purchase number 5.

So as you can see I have had a dollightful time shopping. I think a dolly diet is really overdue now, but we all know how hopeless I am with diets ;o)

Unoa Sist Assembly ~ Stage 2 & 3

Yay! I got my Unoa Sist put together today. Nice warm weather, perfect for coating with MSC. All strung up today. It wasn't too hard either, no translation necessary!

Lot's of pics because I wanted to show all aspects of her creation :o) The first lot show when I sprayed her. We had a little body shop going on in the laundry.

The second lot of pics show the stringing together. All systems go, everything laid out and ready for assembly.

Almost done. The final thing to do is to pop the little back piece in and of course the face plate on.

Ta daaa!

And here she is..... Say hello to Keiko :o)

All she needs now is a face up, which is being done in November by Shuui.

Unoa Sist Assembly ~ Stage 1

I have a new found respect for people that put together their own dolls or even people who restring or sand their dolls.

I have spent three days in total sanding my Unoa Sist. Well not full days of course, but over three days I have spent about four or five hours of trimming excess bits of resin off and sanding seams.

It is very tedious work. Well worth the effort though I have to say. I was hoping to get my Sist sprayed with a coat of Mr Super Clear today as it was nice and warm outside. But when I looked at the seam lines again I really had to give them another going over with a finer grade sandpaper to give them a better finish. I'm glad I did, they look a lot better and the seams are a lot less noticeable.

Unoa Obsession

Well for once in my life I think I have made the right decision. When I bought my Sist off eBay I was so worried about the amount that I paid for her. She cost me a lot more than she would have done on the pre-order but I well and truly missed the pre-order so it just wasn't an option for me.

I thought if I waited until the end of the year to buy a unoa it would be when we are moving and we'd be getting ready for Christmas, plus I hate Christmas post, so many things go missing and it takes longer.

Anyway, the Japanese customers have obviously got their unoa pre-orders now and they are starting to sell on eBay. There is a Sist on there at the moment starting price of $900USD, this makes me feel a lot better about what I paid for mine!

Then last week I also got a Lusis kit off eBay from the same seller that sold me the Sist. I know, I know, I was meant to be on a dolly diet. Anyway it has turned out to be the right decision I think. The seller was kind enough to throw in a free large bust kit for me because she said my payment was excellent, so sweet :o) I paid more for the Lusis but that's to be expected, from what I've seen they usually go for more that the Sist. I ended up paying less for a brand new kit with large bust than the two previous ones sold on DOA recently and now there is another Lusis on eBay from Japan selling with a buy it now price of $850USD, again more than what I paid.

So I'm glad I didn't wait. People are certainly making money on the kits from the pre-order. It will be interesting to watch over the next few weeks to see what happens with the prices.

So now I really need to sell a couple of my big girls to pay for the new ones. I'm just about to put my VDES on ebay today. Every single spare penny will be going on the credit card now that is for sure.

WOW

All I can say is wow! My Sist arrived today. I can't wait to put her together, she looks amazing. This is going to be a great project for me (when I have time of course, oh the joys of children). I'm too scared to open all the little packets of body parts *squee*.

Dolly Diet

What a month it has been in the dolly world, or should I say my dolly world. I have had quite a spending spree just lately and really need to pull my head in now. A self imposed "dolly diet" is well overdue I think. *sob sob* If only I could win Lotto!

Not sure if I mentioned before my growing curiosity with the Unoa dolls from Japan. When I first saw them I wasn't too fussed and couldn't understand why so many people went crazy over them. Then when I bought Poppy my Narae 43cm I started taking more notice of the smaller BJD's. I had always been a devoted super dollfie fan up until then.

Well I have joined the masses and fallen in love with the Unoa's. About a week ago I noticed a U-Noa Sist 1.5ver kit on eBay. I kept my eye on it and then also on DOA there was a Unoa Lusis kit in the marketplace for sale. I missed out on the Lusis but I won the Sist off eBay. It all happened so fast, I couldn't really believe my luck that I had won it. I certainly didn't expect to win and was prepared for the disappointment if I didn't. How's that for fate.

So in order to fund this new girl I am selling Tatiana, my Dark Elf Soo Vampire. I'm sad to let her go but not heartbroken. I really haven't done anything with her since she arrived in January. In a way she was really a substitute for a Vampire Lishe that I so desperately wanted but couldn't get and she really didn't cut the mustard. That sounds harsh I know, she is a beautiful doll, but just wasn't what my heart truly desired. So hopefully she will find a new home where she will be truly loved.

I am also going to have a clear out of all my dolly things and have a little sale on DOA or eBay. Down the track I will sell my Dark Elf Soo to fund Unoa Lusis, hopefully there will be some available through eBay or YJ as all the people will be getting their dolls from the Unoa pre-order that only just ended a week or so ago. Totally kicking myself for missing the pre-order, I could have ordered a Sist and a Lusis for just a bit more than what I paid fro my Sist alone off eBay. I was talking to one girl on DOA and she has waited two years to order her Lusis through the pre-order. Two years!!! I could never wait that long for something. My impulsiveness does cost me money and I wish I could be that patient. But who knows what I might be doing in two years time or what I'm into then. If I want something I want it now! I know, just call me Verruca Salt, lol.
